The Birthday Self-Portrait

This work is a birthday self-portrait assembled through intuition rather than description. I approached the face as a place where memory, mood, and self-observation collide, using layered color and collage-like construction to keep the image alive and unsettled. The result is less a likeness than a record of being present with oneself at a particular moment.
